My digital display has disappeared. The numbers are there because, under certain lighting conditions, I can see them. How can I get the display back?

pull the unit out and check the lights behind it... there are aobut five.

I'm having the same problem too. Also, all my numbers have been reset (date, time, MPG, etc.). Mine is a 88 325i.

Exactly how do I "pull" the display/OBC?

My car is a '96 328i which lost the time/date display some months after the loss of the stereo/CD display. Under certain ambient conditions, lighting shows that the displays are functioning...they are just not bright enough to be usable.

Is this a burned-out bulb problem? If so, how do I pull the OBC to replace the defective bulbs described?

And are they always more economical to buy from an interstate vendor v. my local dealership?

That is for and E30, though.

And Hoff, to reset your OBC, there is a small button one the lower right side that you have to stick something small in to engage. If yours is reading metric stuff (liters, kilometers, etc) first got to Range (I think) and hit that reset button. That should change it to US measurements. If thats not the right one, its one of the ones in the middle column. Eh, you'll figure it out quickly.

To reset time/date, click over to the one you want and hit the reset button. Then you use the 1000 100 10 etc buttons at the bottom to set the time, then click over to date and do the same.
