The 1990 has three wires on the out side beam witch has high and low beam is there anyone in here that has done this and can tell me how to wire them up or what do i have to do with the relay to get this to work like the 1989. The third wire for the low beam driving light is for the high beam circut, cut it and leave it off, the ellipsoid lights don't have a high beam circut for the low.

Hi there if you cut that wire off the out side light will not go on if you used the other wire the hi beam lights will be on all the time. there is only one ground and the other two wire are not hot all the time it has something to do with the rely switch that's why one is hot at one time and then that wire becomes ground when you hit the high light switch not sure if u will under stand what i am saying Thank You. For the outside lights there are 3 wires. One is a ground, one is the power for the head lights, the other is for the high beam. Since ellipsoid lights don't have a high beam circut (2 wires only), you leave the other wire alone and tape it off. You only use the ground and head lamp wires. If you cross the high beam and the headlamp wires together both will come on when you turn on the head lamps. And since there is two for the high, you just use them for the inner lamps.
Hi like you said the out side light have 3 wires one is ground the other two are not hot only one is. Now when i hit the high light switch the other one becomes hot now if u take the two wires that you said you could put them together it would burn out the fuse because one of those two wires become negtive because i put a volt meter on it and it was negtive i still stay it has something to do with the realy .If you like you can send me your # and i will explain it to you Thank You. or just tell me what i am doing wrong Thanks again
You just use the brown wire and the yellow/white wires, wire them to the low beam ellipsoid bulb, tape off the white/violet wire. Thats it. I never said you should splice any two wires together. When converting the non-ellipsoid cars to ellipsoid head lamps when you turn on the high beams the outside (low beams) shut off.
Hi i been talking about the 1990 325 ix now you .Said that when you turn on the high bean the out side (low beam) shuts of right i am looking to get it to work just like my 1989 325 ix when i hit the high beams all 4 light stay on that's how i am trying to get the 1990 325 ix to work don't want the (low beam ) to turn off is there away that i can get all 4 light to work like the 1989 325 ix? Thank You.
