A bit of info for your car....

These work on OBC II (13 button) cars:

Simultaneously press the 1000 and the 1 button to get remaining fuel in liters (the car needs to be running).

Simultaneously press the 1000 and the 10 button to get the version number. You should get something like: 4 .6TYP

Where the 4 is the car/engine designator, the 6 is the chip firmware. That tells you the programming of the OBC, what coding plug is in it. Specific to each engine type, injector type, tire size, fuel tank and reserve capacity.

As of right now I'm trying to decipher and decode the proms in the OBC and speedo so maybe one day people can order new coding plugs with their specs so everything works correctly. But for now it's on the back burner, currently I don't see any demand.... But it would be cool...

I just ordered a new OBC light bar from bavauto.

Cant wait to try it out once I can see the display properly.

Why? Just buy a set of bulbs (part number 272-1140) from radio shack and solder them in.

Sweet I put the new lightbar in today.
Fixed the loose fan knob while I was in there.
Only lost one screw. LOL
Your right I should have just bought two bulbs and soldered em in and saved the 24 bucks LOL

reset to english, set the time, date, reset mpg etc.
The switch on the turn signal works, changes mode.
Did test drive, pretty kool, particularly at ight.
Set the speed warning signal to 150mph. LOL
just reread this post, will try the easter eggs, with the numbers next time

PS the Dinan chip (copy) kicks butt in top end of 2nd and 3rd gear in particular.
Hope to autoX it again in a few weeks, Nov 4, BMWCCA San Diego Qualcom Stadium again.
