Do you do a lot of short drives? What usually causes that is shutting off a cold engine and exhaust -- that leave water from fuel combustion condensing in the exhaust and rusts it out from the inside

what do you mean the heater....cause my heater gets unbelievably hot when i floor it.
///M Dream: I think it started to rust before i got the car..but i made it worse by rumming over a hump int he road with red brick(as you can see the red on the cat.
whiteshark: I dive to school and back which is a 15 min drive everyday....but i generally drive my car for 30-1:30 so i just think it was old..but hell if i know.
Damit its gonna be like 200 to change it. I still havent decided if i jsut want to swap everything out and get a new system. Can i get performance exhaust or close to it with a cat so its still smog-able.(Im not gonna sell the car..but if for any reason i do i want it to be easier.)

Hey guys,
Have any of you guys tried the high flow universal cats that they sell on Ebay? I wanted to ask before I wasted $40... I really don't feel like doing the $300 OEM thing with this car, but I might need to do something to get my car to pass inspection.. We'll just put it this way.. your hole is not that large... at least you have metal still on the bottom.. I think mine peeled away about 4 months ago... and I don't want to get a new exhaust because I'm going to do the engine swap, and I'll have to get a custom exhaust anyways... what do you think?
Drive on, Bimmerheads.
