OK, I searched this and I could not find any info.

On my 325e, the alternator bracket appears to have bent. When looking down at the alternator, it is slanted so the pulley side leans toward the engine. The drive belt is still on the pulley, but it looks like it could fall off or break at any moment. The drive belts were replaced a couple of years ago, about 10k miles. Obviously, this is not a good thing. I have stopped driving it until I can get it diagnosed.

Any ideas?

Id have a look at the rubber bush that mount the bottom of the alternator I used to change loads on M10 engine so the M20 is much different they go soft and the alternator leans in towards the engine, you can but the bushes separately a bit of a pain to fit clean the recesses well and use a vice and socket to press them in..

if its a rebuilt alt there are no bushings.

the adjustment bar is weak and sometimes breaks. if its not broken you could remove it and bend it back. if it is broken they are cheap money. the bushings are also cheap money if you do have them.
