BELTS starting to squeal at startup??

after having this car for about a week - it seems the belts sometimes begin to squeal at startup until i rev engine up a bit and then it quites down. have not definitly localized noise yet but it sounds like belts squealing.

any tips on how to stop this or why it just started up???

Not being facetious, but tighten the belts. I had this on a '90 325IC and it was the alternator belt that was squealing.

My power steering belt squeals when I turn the wheel all the way to either side...I'm sure I just need to tighten it...but I just haven't gotten around to it...

I'd say tighten yours...

I second that motion. See how much tension is on them. If you can easily push them down, tighten them.
