Battery Tray needed.

So..my battery tray has snapped in half...need a new one.

turns out the part is not longer manufactured by BMW...atleast thats what my dealer is telling me.


So....wtf.

anyone have an extra one? anyone know some bmw dismantlers in the bay area?(alpine..i think you might...or kraut?)

One of my first eBay purchases was a rear battery tray (under $20). I've seen some in Vegas salvage yards, and the tray part number (up to 9/87 from realoem.com) is 51 71 1 922 158.

my brother has tons of parts lying around, i will check. whats the part # and is your tray mounted in the engine bay or trunk?

Pulled one today from a 325i coupe (10/88 build month). Visible scuffing, but no cracks or rust, and the long threaded hold-down bolt threads easily into both holes.
