I want to find the part to cover the battery in the trunk of my 1989 325i and have not been able to find one on any of the sites I have looked at. Any ideas on where I might look for this and also what are the dealers calling this part as that might be part of my problem in finding it.
I can't imagin life with the battery in the trunk....wierd.
Your battery is under the hood? WTF?

I laugh when I think about pulling up to help jump start someones car and then opening my trunk and the dude being like "wtf? your battery's in the trunk?"
I think that'd be funny...

battery under the hood sucks for weight distribution...thats why its in the trunk...
i have had both but i must say i preffer battery in trunk, so much more convenient....especially for jumping(how many times have you had to be in an awkward situation of trying to get 2 cars nose to nose just to connect the wires...seriously, doesnt work well in the side of the freeway/highway lol)/wiring up amps is cake and you still get a + distribution block under the hood...so whenever you need a positive connection under the hood, you still have one...best of both worlds

I had a buddy that I was going to boost grab the cables and go directly to the front of my car....this is AFTER I had already backed up to his hood. He was like...
dude guy: "why are you going in the trunk?"
me: "because that's where my battery is"
dude guy: "well that's pretty fuckin' stupid!"
...I shoulda' smacked him
I proceeded to extol the virtues of a trunk mounted battery in these cars, he still didn't get it. (he drives an old POS ford, so i really can't blame him i guess)
