How much maintenance do YOU guys do to your own E30's? I'd like to save some cash and do my own oil changes and normal maintenance.

How often do you change plugs/wires/cap+rotor on these cars? Cause ours had the same ones on there for a long long time.. over 100 000 km.

Thanks

there are alot of ppl that can tell u what they do for mantainence. I cant drive yet and just started fixing my bimmer up so i cant really help u but i can, i can say that people have told me that they cheak there car about every 2 weeks and do something to try and keep it running better (change/cheak fluids and what not).
If u dont have a repair manuel yet i suggest getting one
Bentles or Haynes

Usually, whatever the owner's manual says.
Some change their oil more often. Some use synthetic oil.
Some drive harder than others so they do more maintenance/repairs.
Some do mods so they do a LOT more than others.

Click here for a link to a service manual for your car.

I changed some hoses and cleaned the spark plugs so far.
Hasn't needed oil yet, but I'll do that when it does.

Cool. The car is my dads, so there won't be any performance mods going into it. I just wanted to save some money doing our own oil changes, plugs, wires, etc all the simple stuff.

I've always been under the impression that BMW's are much more sophisticated than domestic vehicles, and even for simple maintenance, specialty knowledge is needed?

Thanks
