Hi guys, Ive just come back to the fold!! (apologies for the long boring post!)
The missus wrote off my e36 last year on third party insurance and I've been driving a mondeo since then (and her 97 polo openair!) The polo blew its headgasket twice in 3 months recently so I've taken it off the road to sort properly. In the meantime I needed a runabout to get to work so I toddled off to the local trade sales place.
Picked myself up an 89 316i 4 door in red with 125K on the clock, taxed until end november, MOT'd until March 2005 for £300.
I need to look at the S.I. Board as my temp gauge and rev counter aren't working - also I think I need to top up the oil in the diff as there is a " whugga whugga" noise from the rear from 30 upwards.
The interior is as shabby as hell but it's so much fun to drive - I am seriously thinking of getting this one sorted and selling the polo once it's sorted!
There are some minor rust patches that I need to look at but if anyone thinks I am going in the wrong direction with the diff please let me know - I'm having my first proper look tomorrow B) |
