They look better in wrinkle finish with the ribs polished. Buy some plastikote wrinkle finish valve cover paint, spray the cover, let it cure and then poilsh the
bmw letters and ribs with a polishing wheel. Edit just noticed you have a 318.

VHT or Dupli color has high temp. engine paint.Use that.Make sure you clean off the valve cover from grease or dust.

Used plastikote wrinkle paint, high temp of course, I prepped the surface with
a Rolec polishing wheel, cleaned it with acrysolv, shot some self etching primer down, then sprayed it with wrinkle paint, let it cure, then finally polished the paint off the ribs and bmw logo/letters, it is very durable.

dont try polishing, its cast so there is air pockets, i can show you what a pollished cover looks like because i did mine, takes like 4 days and cause of the casting it doesn't look to hot, if i got it cleared it would look decent. but still with the oil and other stuff that gets on it its a pain to keep clean. i recomend painting it.
