Anyone know anything of the transfercase in E30 IX

Hi I resently posted a thread about a tranny swap, and i now realized i gotta purchase a 5 speed tranny and i was wondering if anyone knew if i would need to buy a new transfercase for a manual Tranny in my 325 ix of it he transfer case that is in it will work with a manual tranny. *(the vehicle has an auto tranny in it now)*

Well looking in ETK it lists the auto and manual as having different transfer-cases. They are only 1 number apart so it could be something minor that makes it different but without having one of each side by side it is impossible to tell what is different in the ETK picture.

It's the front part of the case, the rest is the same as far as I know. So if you can get the front half of a t-case and do a little surgery you'll be good, however finding a case that is split may be harder than finding a whole case.
