Another Transmission problem...fun! - BMW Forum

ok...so i had an accident with my bmw (325 '87), and i got the body fixed, and i must say is looks brand new, mostly.

But, the shift console(where the shift lever is) slipped out of the rear console mount (where its held inplace, kind of underneath the ebrake, above the drive shaft) during this crash. So, what holds the rear console mount inplace is a single nut which is very difficult to get to because of the exhaust and driveshaft. My question is what is the best approach to this problem? I know the rest of the transmission is fine because it can move through all the gears and there's no problem except this one.
Also, i was wondering if there's a special tool that can make it back there and what size the nut is.

umm why dont you just move the drive shaft and exhaust then reinstall it?... easy....
