alternator belt

my87325i n00b Join Date: Oct 2010 Car: Posts: 4 Photos:	alternator belt Just bought a 1987 325i that has been sitting for a year driving it home and lost the alternator belt, this car has 3 belts looks like power steering and a/c and the one i lost, do you have to remove the first two belts to get to the alternator belt, and can the alternator belt be put on around the fan ?, thanks for any help.

Join Date: Feb 2005 Car: Posts: 8,829 Photos:	yeah the belt can fit around the fan. shouldn't be too hard. just watch the star nut so you don't strip it, it's kind of a bitch to replace. __________________ *R.I.P fast 6* Two wheels or Four, I'm happy as long as the throttle is pinned.
