Alright, So I Got Yet Another One

alright, as you can see from the pics yet another one joins my line up. my parts guy was selling it and i just couldn't pass on it.....not every day you can snag a vert for under 3g.......and yes this is the same guy that is responsible for hooking me up with the necessary cars for my lovely motor swap (see the E30 motor into E21 thread). so yes we are on a first name basis

well here's where i need your assistance BMW heads.....i have personalized plates on all my other vehicles (even the E21 is getting one when done) and i need ideas for this one. she is an 87 (so i have two 87's now) with the I motor and if you couldn't tell from the pics, a lovely convertable. so post up your idears cause i could use some assistance

this one just sort of fell into my lap, i went over to drop off the alternator for the benz, needs to be rebuilt....and he had this out front, just got it, just decided to sell it......i totally didn't want to get another one, but the condition, the price, and the fact that it has a manual top had me at "hello"

and thanks to all for the suggestions keep em' coming...i now have a few to think about

yes that was true........and honestly i can't really afford this one right now either, but my bank just told me i could :wink

personally i like to cash and carry my cars, no loans whatsoever. and that's what i wanted to do with yours, and the 3g was a bit out of my range as to what i could pull together quickly.

but friends that need a bunch of car repairs just sort of fell into my lap at the time i was looking at this, so the pieces just fell together for nine tenths of the money with the bank making up the difference till i can pay it off.

and honestly i would have much rather had yours.

sorry...i have to deliver her to her new owner*sigh* in oregon. He has already told me she'll see about 100 miles a year, after a full resto

any mods planned for this one?

just want to drive her for the time being.......i wouldn't mind swapping out the knuckle grabbers for a set of basket weaves and throw on a set of lowering springs......but other than that not a whole lot. i have my E21 to mod out, the rest of my BMW line up stays fairly stock.

welp, i want to lower it some more. she has springs right now, but not really happy with the drop. want to have her sitting much lower. so perhaps a set of coil overs if i can run them down. i have found a sick nasty set of rims that are just dead sexy and i may see about hooking them up for her. if not those then a set of the bigger basket weaves.....install up the E30 dash.....you can see i took out the head light for the bright, i want to run a ram air type set up on her. i need to fab up a type of grill on there to keep bigger items from coming in the hole, LOL, and to make it look prettier. i also have a racing seat for the driver's seat i am going to fab up mounts and install. and if i can sell the GTI race cage i will just go with a quarter cage in her...something to bolt the racing harness(es) up to. and anything else that may strike my fancy.......

i may forgo running down an early model M3 in the spring in exchange for pulling this motor running down a diesel crank and rods (makes it into a stroker), doing an I head conversion with the M individual throttle body set up from BMP with a mass air flow conversion, cams, and a lovely turbo set up (for even a bit more icing on the cake)......but will have to see. as i hate odd numbers and i could really use another one in my family to even it all out :lol:
