Well, the guy who owned my 325i (1989) had a cone filter installed. I changed it back today, to the stock airbox. It now seems that whenever I try accelerate, the engine doesnt get enough air. When I stand over the engine, and rev the it, it sounds as if there is an instant vacuum and then it breathes properly again. I dont have the acceleration or power because of this.
Do I have to change anything on the airbox or the airflow meter? If so - How?
What gives is that you just reduced your engine's air supply. There's a reason that people put in cone filters. If you want the extra power, put the cone filter back in.
Its not a question of not having the power I desire, its a question of not having any power at all, as if I've just bunged up the air intake with a cloth....... BUT....... guess what stupid me didnt do - I forgot to connect the AFM wire back to the AFM - Hence the loud vacuum sound and lack (NO) power.
