ABS light on

Hi again - the last person who had the car disconnected the light from the speedo housing - I connected it back up and the light now stays on - surprise surprise.

Any idea what to look for ?? - 1988 325 - black bumpers etc

First WAG is check the alternator output.

If less than 14 volts the ABS will alert.

Here are two diagrams from an e24 so the fuses are not the same.

well... obvious question is... "does the ABS really not work, or is it just a faulty indication"

if it doesn't work, most common reason is the relay under the knee bolster... pretty easy fix. if the ABS doesn't work, let us know & we'll take it from there

Hi again - thanks for giving me some pointers - this is my first attempt at a BMW - more at home with a Cooper 'S' !!! - The old not new !!

Braking hard - I got some pulse - although I also believe I had some lock up on one wheel - which would indicate a sensor not working - will clean the sensor plugs tomorrow and see what happens then

hey guys i was just under my dash drivers side and trying to get my sdpeakers to work now my abs light is on as well and theres hella snow here and they do not pulse anymore could i have knocked the relay lose or anything like that? ghead
