my car sat for awhile got it running and no tach. read all the other posts and changed out the si batteries. that fixed the obc but still no tach. i tried to trace the contacts and the traces on the pcb all seems intact. does it sound like ive got a bad cluster(the si board and or the cluster board)? is there anything else i could check? any ideas are welcome. thanks!
does your odo work? when my speed pickup sensor in my diff got disconnected on my 325e my tach stopped working as well. check the connector make sure its still connected and not corroded.
Yea its connect at the rear of the diff normal top right, looking from the rear but may be different on your model, you cant really miss it as it has wires from it, also it may not be the sensor but a broken wire or loose connection.
