89 325i engine cut out I posted this earlier, but still have not been able to find the fault. The car is fine until it reaches about 3200 RPM, then it looses all power (like the engine dies), when you let the rpm's drop back down it is good to go again. With no load it does not seem to happen (car in park and just reving engine). I have replaced and checked the mass air flow meter, the throttle position switch, the fuel pressure regulator and even tried another computer, nothing changes. I have noticed a lower operating tempreture and the cruse control is not working properly sometimes it does and sometimes it does not, mostly not, I do not know if this would effect the rpm issue. I also checked the crank positition indicator, the resistance was in range. It runs OK as long as I am under 3000 rpm. Anyone got a suggestion, I have also noticed some irrattic movement of the vaccum gage (mpg indicator) it drops under acceleration when you let off it swings to the other end then starts to drop as the rpm's go down then it will swing back up and drop again on it's own. |
