Cool 86 325es, new member, alot of ?s!!!

i have had my bmw now for about two months just trying to work out all the small problems so i can move on to bigger things. ive done some research on the m20b27 and m20b25 and i know that the the crank and the block are what people desire from the b27 due to the high compersion but not to sure about what else goes on after that . do people just switch out the rest with the b25 or just upgrade further than that and if so what is the average outcome? another ? about the hub since is a 4 lug and wanting to switch to 5 due i need to swap out and get a different hub and if so any suggestions? another ? is the trans when in nuetal makes chatering nose and just wonder about the process of fixing the chatering. also on the valve ajustments how tight should i get them. also wondering about the diff in the how often due they normally break if well lubercated and constanly abused. um is the chip a good investment considering i dont really like the low rev limit but apparently if chiped it changes to about 5300 . thats all i got for now i guess i should save some for next time.

Thanks Alot: Shad325es

b27 bottom end, b25 head and everything else. You need a custom chip for the ECU, but aside from that, from what I understand nothing else is needed. The combo should be good for about 200hp if I remember correctly.

A chip would be a good investment. A 5 lug swap tends to be expensive, you can you the front strut assemblies from an e36 and some trailing arm 5 lugs with hubs etc I think what the z3 has works. Its not going to be cheap but you can't just swap a hub because it won't fit, not even the e30 m3 stuff unless you get a complete set.

Here is a link to a place where you can buy all the needed parts:
Treehouse Racing - 5 Lug Kit
You might be better off to try and buy them from someone parting out a car or a shop to save some money but do your research and make sure you get the right parts.
