You can replace your m20 engine with a m50 engine (m3 moter) It had been down numerouse amounts of times
im not sure how much it would cost for a whole new moter, maybe around 5,000+?
now if u just want to replace the existing moter then just go to a junk yard and see what you can dig up

I am going to look at an 85 325e with a bad motor, and I am wondering how hard it is to find a new motor for this model of car. Also I would like to know if any other motors can be interchanged. Any help is greatly appericated.
