Yes, e30 M3 came stock with them. (certain e36 parts can be made to work, even some z3 parts can be used.)

And ALOT of guys who push around that hp remain with 4 lugs with no problems what-so-ever.
I know, I had 4 lugs with my last turbo bmw and never had any problems either. Now, if I ever get another 750il motor (had to sell the last one I had, eating is a hard habit to break) for a motor swap for my current e30 , I will do a 5 lug conversion.

back when i use to work for a local tuner shop we had a CRX making about 730whp, on 4 lugs
one of the new kids cross threaded a stud and broke it off at the track during a wheel change, ran it in 3 lugs and it never had any problems, did 12 runs like that on wrinkle walls 3 lugs and 730whp hahaha
5 lugs are for squares
