Hey Guys I recently got a car that is not so recent lol.

I have a 1987 BMW 325ES and yesterday the car died on me at a toll gate and I had to get a tow from them to my work location and there I got a jump start from some nice people and had the car running, but the problem was that the idle is weak and it dies right away.

The battery is suppose to charge while you are on idle and/or drive for a bit, but it didn't so I am not quite sure if it is the battery that needs replacing or the alternator. so I am thinking about getting both replaced.

The problem is I don't know where the alternator is located on this bimmer.

I know the alternator is the more expensive of the two to replace but I can easily find a rebuild or good used alternator for it. the problem now is locating the damn thing and how do I take it off? Is there 2 or 3 bolts holding it down, and I know I have to remove the belts as well to change it.

Get back to me soon thanks
