325ix Back For 3 Days...broke Down Again!!

Well I just got my bimmer back from getting a new trannie on thursday. I'm driving to work today. As I'm crossing the bridge into harrisburg I hear a loud click come from the pasanger side rear tire every time I hit a bump. everying is fine the rest of the way till I get off at my exit. When I leave the light a loud intermitent click is steadily coming from that area. I thought maybe it was something just hitting the tire but I took the tire off and gave it a look and I see nothing. I Ended up having it towed home. If it's not something that maybe he didn't tighten down properly and broke loose I might consider getting rid of the car. ghead

The bad thing is I just read bimmer magazine and it said that a black 325ix 2 door 5 speed is the hardest one to get and the one that people who want one search for. So that makes me wanna put some more cash into it. I like the fact that it's a rare model.

If you guys were in my shoes what would you do?

it prolly needs a rear axle, what you are describing sounds like an axle. what kind of pads do you have in the rear? i have found that sometimes when people buy cheapo brake pads sometimes they dont sit exactly right and move around causing a click

Well if that's the case is this yet another ix only part or is the axle going to be the same from any e30?

ya know what..They just put new brake pads on my car when I got it inspected.

I would definetly keep the car. If you get these problems out of the way now, you will enjoy the car that much more down the line. The E30 325ix is a collector's item...if you got rid of it, you would be very sorry.

check the brakes first they couldve left the clips off and left them loose. what kind of pads did they use? i dont know if the axle is the same or not

i think the real axles are the same

Got lucky..this time. It was what I thought and had hoped...a heat shield came loose.

It can maybe just the bushing of the axel in the caliper... and i think its the same caliper that i (not sure)

Part are more expensive but with lot a call you can find anything...
