325i Cabrio restoration

Hey everybody!

Glad to find this forum, just like my ClubLexus message boards I usually call home. I just picked up a 1988 convertible 325 from a friend who was going to donate it, mechanically its in fantastic condition, but cosmetically it leaves a lot to be desired. I've been getting a lot of the smaller trim pieces and everything that I need pretty easily, and I want to replace the convertible top assembly. Does anyone here have any experience with putting the new cloth top on the frame? I'd love to do this job myself to save the expense, but I also want it done right.. any ideas?

we had that done on our 87 convert.(along with many others), but we had the top replaced in a shop so i don't know what i can tell you on that subject, but if you think of somthing else...
