partially plugged cat can be the problem here. Another thing to check is the idle control valve. It may be stuck, it happens from time to time, if its stuck, get some carb cleaner and spray it with carb cleaner, and actuate it with a screwdriver, keep doing so til it rotates back and fourth freely when you twist shake the valve. They are VERY expensive to replace-400+ dollars. They are located right next to the throttle body. Another thing that can cause this problem is a ripped intake boot. It will leak air through the rip at idle, and this will cause the mass airflow to think its not getting as much air, which will then cause the ECU to inject less fuel-til it dies.
