I have a 1987 325i (2.5L) convertible and want to build an engine with performance parts, I also posess a 1985 325e (2.7L) engine. I was told by the BMW dealer these have the same block and head but the externals have differences. The has ore torque and less RPM. Can anyone tell me if this older 325e block and head can be used as a replacement engine or will modifications be needed? If this is possible do you think this is a decent choice since it is a 2.7L engine? I am wondering if the external parts on my 325i will bolt on and what I need to considder with internals like cam shaft, RPM range, porting... things things pertaining to performance.
Thanks for any information anyone might might have about this.
Sincerely,
Brooks. <brooksshepherd@hotmail.com>
