318is Engine Into A 320i Can It Be Done??

I have access to a 318is engine and want to drop it in my 320i chassis. Anyone done it?
any suggestions??

why are you going to a smaller displacement is the 2 liter guttless? how many k does the 1.8 haev on her?

ah see the 320i (83) has a 1.8 litre, the 318 1.8 puts out about 50 - 60 more horse from what I have read. The 320 engine is 101 Bhp and a little weak. I want to drop in some power to go with the handling :driving
Ks I am not sure about.

I'm guessing you are talking about the M42 engine that came in the late production E30's. If so, yes, that engine can but put into the E21's. I've heard of a few people doing this. You might want to ask arround on different boards to get all the info you can. bimmerforums.com has a decent sized E21 section with a lot of knowledgeable people.

yeah a stock M42 puts out llike 135 hp
