318is Electrical Problem

I have a 91 e30 with a battery drain problem. Batt and alt check out ok, current draw is a little high. Pulled all fuses and havent isolated the short. Anyone have experience with any common electrical issues with this model? Thanks.

iv got a 91 318is, and no problems with that, cept when the alt went. umm do you have the stock radio in it? if not look on the back and see if any loose wires are touching metal, you could have a short there, and if anything isn't working correctly trace the wiring back and it will prolly be shorted out and thats whats draining your battery.

you may be right- its my sons car and a new radio has been installed- as soon as the 3' of snow that has landed stops, thats probably the best place to start. thanks
