stottc is an unknown quantity at this point
I have a problem with my 318i, I'm not too mechanical but quite technical. Still learning. Just bought my first 318i and have two problems. The first problem is that the car dips briefly (as if I quickly turned off the key) and sometimes it cuts out completely (can't restart for about a minute sometimes longer). So I fiddled around a little. Wiggled wires, opened the bonnet and wiggles wires off the HT coil etc, all seemed ok, also poked at the fuses, also all fine, then got back in the car, and she started up. She idles perfectly and runs really smoothly, except to find my new problem (must have done something while I was poking around). I swith the key off, take it oout and the engine is still running. (all the dashboard light switch off though, but I can get the car to swith off. I nearly shot through my garage door because I had her in revearse and took my foot off the clutch with the key in my hand (lucky for the BMW's awsome handbrake )

Not sure what to do now. I don't know anything about this car, the other cars I have owned are kind of different.

What could I have poked?

Chris
