OK... '91 318i sedan... stock muffler finally rusted out... so I, in my infinite wisdom, went down to Advance Auto Parts and bought a nice $40 dynomax turbo muffler. Then I trekked on down to the local Olympco muffler and had the nice fellas welder on there. So far so good! Looks great! He even did a perfect replica of the OEM tailpipe. Well I paid them the $100 which I thought was a decent enough price... then I pull out of the drive way and the SOB is almost as loud as it was before I replaced the muffler!

Ok... so apparently I'm used to turbo cars... any ole muffler will do... well now it sounds like there's a whole wake of angry bee's chasing me anywhere near half throttle or above 3k whicever comes first. So I go back to the parts store and buy a $20 Thrush turbo muffler, which I have used before on my Toyota p/u, no turbo and it was nice. I cut off the other new muffler

, clamp this one on... badda boom badda bing! LOUDER!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF! Is there some kind of evil sound engineer at BMW that did this on purpose? I never had this issue with a 6 cyl BMW? I'm tired of the F-ing ricers thinking I want to run them all the time with my baby in the back! Does it need a resonator or something or do I just need a big nasty stuffy muffy? HELP!
