Well the 318 head sure as heck wouldn't work.
It's got two fewer cylinders.
But yes, the 2.5 i-spec head can be switched out to the Eta engine, along with some other pieces to combine the low-end of the 2.7 and the revability and horsepower of the 2.5. If you stroked it to 2.8 liters, you'd have a real monster.
Thanks. That shows how much I know about BMW's! If I make the switch, will I lose compression? Another thread said the compression ratio would go down to 7.5 due to different pistons?

compression will drop and u will need to get custom pistons, or accept the lower compression ( i believe it drops to 8:8:1) and pick up pistons from a 528e or a Super ETA...
