316i 1990 m40 swapped m20 - BMW Forum

i am currently new to this forum but would like to know what wires needed to be spliced to get my e30 from cranking status to actually starting. seems that the c101 pins are not matching up.

If the car cranks, then it might not be a wiring issue.

no signal at the coil and no spark at the plugs. changed the coil and spark plugs are good just need to know if someone has done the swap before and if they know what wires go to where from my m20 engine harness to my chassis harness.

Did you put an M20 ECU in?? Easiest way. Because the M40 has coil packs, and the m20 has the single coil. Im pretty sure the M20 ECU fits right in too.
