316 2.6 1997 heating problem

Hello, i have problem, on my 316 BMW temperature was rising, but when i re wit temperature drops again . I check the water in radiator, it was not full, than i fill it up, temperature wasn't rising anymore, but, when i check radiator level ( after some 20 miles) was down again. I was thinking probably it is thermostat fault, because pipe in left side inst warm...just in right side. And i cant see any leeks from radiator. Heaters working fine.
Another version is head gasket, but oil in engine is ok, no smoke from exhaust, no any white marks on the lead, and pipes are soft.

So i don't have any idea whats wrong with it.

P.S
How can i check level on radiator? There is no marks on it. Is it any chance the water level was too high, and it have been push out somehow....im so so so confused....pleas heeeelp!

Thank you!
