Today I was reading Car and Driver and came across a tiny article with a new looking bmw above it. I started reading and it said that Bmw might be coming out with a new 4 series. The prototype was named the E90. The article also said that the 4 series is going to eliminate the 3 series. I saw a artists drawing of the car and it looks pretty cool, I don't think i can live knowing that the 3 series will be gone! What do you guys think? Has anyone else heard this news, or is it just an idea.

Fuck dude, what is going down with the BMW's these days? The new 7's look like shit, the new 5's are deec, but to lose a 3 series, and to make it look like some piece of retro shit, is jsut wrong, I think they should still keep some of their 3's, even if its just the 330Ci, and the M3, I would hate to see a new M3 look like that shit. on www.dtmpower.net, then have a pic of the new M5, its alright, but I like the way the 2001-2003 M5's look better, they look so much more beastly, I think BMW is heading in the wrong direction. Ofcourse people will still buy their cars cuz its a BMW, but still. The true hearted BMW fans I think wont be down too much for the new models. THe X3 looks like a fuckin dildo.

If anything, they should bring the M6 and 8's cars back, but thats my opinion.

I've heard that BMW is going to redo their numbering. All 2 doors are going to be even numbered, hence the switch from Z3 to Z4. I can't remember where I read it, I think it was either in Bimmer or BMW Magazine.
I already posted my blurb about the new e90 in the other forum, but just to clarify i will copy paste it here
This may be the wrong forum, but what the hell..why not
The next gen M3 (coded e90) will be a FOUR DOOR CAR ONLY!!!!!!!
When you said M3's are 2 door always, that is incorrect because many people have the 4 door versions inbetween 1992-1999 (surprisingly i dont know which years had 4 door versions).
Back on your question....4 door only!!!!! But how could this be? what happened to the ultimate coupe, you ask! WHY OH WHY WOULD BMW DO THIS!!! Well bud, ill tell yah, BMW is having a change of heart and i deciding to move back into their old (somewhat unknown) numbering system. Where all coupes will generally be an even number, and 4 doors will be odd numbered...examples
8 series = even - coupe
old 6 series = even = coupe
new 6 series = even = coupe
and so on....
that system didnt necesarily last long, but the fact that BMW is attemptign to brign back soem Bimmer heritage makes me swell up with tears
Anywho, now your saying, those basterds got rid of the coupe M3, they must DIE!!! Well, liek i said....even = coupe odd = 4-door
so the m3 e90 HAS to be a four door. This is where BMW invents the M4...pretty much your M3 car but a coupe...just like you wanted

and here is the picture thingy about it sumwhat.
