3.91 is pretty damn high.

You'd probably ALWAYS be in boost, so it might be a good thing for a car with a turbo, but you'd suffer big time on gas mileage.

Is it a LSD?

yeah it would be.. NM. We're going to get a 3.73LSD. Seems to be the best we can get for this turbo e30. this is the last piece that we need. Right now it has a 4.10LSD and it blows for mileage and winding it out. It's awesome for drag racing though lol...
