I guess no one has info at all about this.Well i guess what ever info i get from doing the swap i will take detailed photos of the swap step by step and share them anyone who wants to know. this swap is very big in euro into the e30 bmw. The guy i am getting the motor from has it in a e30 325is fits in there like a glove. You tube has a lot of e30 with this swap.Alpina did it and now i will.I am in N.Y Queens look 4 the gray wolf 320 or should i say 335i e21. Yea baby!
thanks i have a535is,635csi with the same 3.5 but the curb wt of my 320i that i have made at 2122lbs this car should go like a pit bull on crack! Yea that is bad.
Still need to pick up the motor from the guy. Right now it is in a e30. Next week i will pick it up and get busy. All my boys r telling me to put in a m20. Not! Anyone who knows there BMW's knows that Alpina did the same set up in a e21 with the the motor from a e12 528. So it will wk and be insane. You tube has one put in "e21 335 'and tell me what you think.YOU HAVE TO THINK WAY OUTSIDE THE BOX!NYC RETRO O SKOOL 320i!
Also have you checked the price of s14 M3 motors? They are very $$$$$$$$. That is without trans&comp and all the hard wear to make it fit. There is a guy out here NYC did the swap himself and it was 6 grand when it was done. The 3.5 motors go for 400-600 trans-200-250 comp-100.Biggest bang for the buck. Stock 216+ chip+free flow ex=238-246.for 1200-1500v.s6000. Any ??????. Basic Math and money.
For the most part i will keep the internals stock the motor has 61k on it. if it is not broke don't fix it. The cams for the 3.5 are also $$$$$. In stock form these motors have alot of torque. Chip,K&N,header, free flow ex magna flow she will be good. I do all my own work so cost will be just parts. Yea and a brake up grade to slow this puppy down. Picking up 3.5 next week. And here we go!
