What length do I cut it to? the same length as the original one? I saw somewhere online exactly how much to cut off to make it work but I cannot find it anymore.....It's going into a 318is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
usually for the M/S 50/52 swaps to clear the intake manifold...just use the 325iX brake booster...it works way better...the 2002 MC makes the resistance so rediculous its borderline dangerous...ask AJs320i hes been running the 2002 MC with his M50 e30 and it sucks...325iX offset is the way to go

The 2002 booster with a M50 swap does kind of suck but I've gotten used to it, you just have to apply more pedal force. Having higher brake pedal resistance has helped me in my heal-toe technique though. I find that in cars with higher braking assistance from the booster I can't modulate braking as well while heal-toe'ing. If money isn't an issue ditch the brake booster all together and get a Tilton pedal setup.
I got it for free and was told it will work well so I was hoping it will be even better than the stock 318is booster, so overall is it better? just a tiny bit? Thanks for the input.

Are you having a problem with your brakes? Other than doing an M50 swap there is no need to put the 2002 booster in your car.
no, no problems with my brakes, this is for an S52 swap.
hah knew it had to be
