2.7L in a 1980 323is?

i just wanted to know what this motor came out of. I had purchased the car from one of my dad's friends and the motor had perviously been rebuilt. I think it might be the 2.7L from the 325e but i'm not sure. and i was wondering how much HP does a 2.7L have originally. Mine is rated over 220HP. Thanks for any tips you guys

the 2.7L M20B27 from 325es before 1989 was rated for 121hp @ 3250rpm and 170lb-ft. @ 4250rpm. After that, they made the 'super eta' that put out the same torque but seven more horsepower. What your dad's friend probably did was use the B25 (i-spec) valvetrain and stuff with the eta crank and bottom-end parts, among some other things.
