1992 318i Convertible Question

I recently bought a 1992 318i Convertible (build date 6/92). As usual, the 2nd thing I buy after buying an old car is to buy a shop manual and that's were I get confused. The car is obviously an E30 but Bently manuals only show E30's up to 90 (with M10's in the 318's) and the Haynes manual for '92 up covers E36 body styles (w/M42 4-cylinders). My convertible has the DOHC 4-cylinder engine that looks to me just like the engine in my friend's '95 318ti. Where does my 318iC fit into the BMW continuum?

If it looks like mine, it's an E30. Mine (a 325i) was built in 9/91, and is a 1992 model.

Yup, looks like Chris's and it's definately an E30. I just know that I have a ton of things to work on and don't know which manual to study (I have both) for things like the odometer that quit working (have the link to that) how to troubleshoot the idiot lights on the windshield frame (SRS, etc) which I know need work because the cover film is broken and bulbs have been removed. Of course I know I'm not the only one with uncertainty, since my friends '95 (E36) 318ti apparently has an E30 type rear suspension..., Mainly just want to know things like how to explain my car to (even the educated) parts guy when I need stuff.
