Greetings all,

My beautiful 1988 325i BMW has just exhibited a new characteristic.

It seems that whenever I drive the car for approx. 25 minutes, there is a burning plastic smell from the car. It's kinda like electronic components or something. I noticed it about three days ago (Dec 31) and it has been constant since.

My clutch needs to be changed, yes, but there is no slippage. My thermostat and clutch fan were changed approx two months ago.

It seems strongest from the read seats inside the cabin, and strongest on the passenger side from the outside.

Nothing changed recently in my car, except for a higher quality fuel.

Any suggestions?
