1988 325i injector question

so here's my issue, if I let the 325i sit for more than a couple of days in the Chicagoland weather it starts fine and then starts slightly missing on a cylinder for awhile and eventually recovers after about 10 minutes and is fine. If I run the thing every day this doesn't happen. I think I have a partially sticking injector that is varnishing with non use. The local Goodyear tire shop advertised a fuel injector cleaning for $70. I called them and asked if they took the injectors out individually and cleaned them in a specialy designed device. They said no, they just put this chemical in the fuel and run the engine for like 15 minutes. I asked if they then changed the oil as this solvent dilutes the oil and he said no, they don't, that would be an extra $40. I then called a local Bosch authorized indy repair shop and asked them if they have this machine/tool that cleans injectors and they said no, they don't, but they have heard of this machine. I asked them if they knew of anywhere in the chicagoland area that had this machine and they said no they didn't. I replied that then I could just dump some Techron in the tank and run it and then change the oil and they said, and I quote, "Yeah, thats what we do". Any similar experience? Cause I can bypass this by just starting the damn car every day and driving it for 20 minutes, which is a pleasure anywhohow, yet it seems semi-riduculus that these car repair places will take your money to dump STP fuel treatment into your engine for$70 in such a cavalier manner....

Well here in the UK, we use injector cleaner and it works great, two treatments per bottle, from an auto store £4.50 not sure in $ about $6 or 7 I suppose, so where they get $70 from? not sure and we dont need to change the oil.

I stepped in a plate of Pasta the other day - now I have to worry about my Carbonara footprint!

appreciate the help...I feel like a real dick on this one...the problem was the #6 spark plug wire wasn't properly seated on the plug tip. That is totally my fault as I was the last one in there and obviously didn't seat the plug wire on the thing. I could say that I hate the #6 cylinder as it's 'tucked back there' but that would be lame. Fact is that I simply pressed the plug wire in and it caught and the car is fine again...Really, I feel as a horses ass on this one....I should know better...sorry to waste yalls time.....
