1987 bmw e30 (316 m10 )

need help .
i am taking off the stock carb & replacing with a 32/36 downdraft weber do i still have to use the under the dash computer 0260 200 005 ?

This is serious...what country do you live in where there are stock carbs on 1987 BMWs? The last carburetor thing I messed with was taking an original Zenith-Stromberg 32 off of my 1976 2002 and putting on a Weber 32/36 DGAV. Man, what a difference! That was awesome....

My guess would be to leave the computer in place. I don't see how else the mixture can be controlled.

tonymiser is correct, no Weber carb was ever controlled by an ECU...i mean never...

really, I am talking about a 1976 2002 here. That was basically the last carbed BMW sold in North America.....

If the Weber has no computer control inputs, I'd say the computer has no role. What kind of fuel pump does the car have?

it has a electrical pump mounted in the engine bay ,the machanical one i took off

Well, I'd think the computer might have a role regulating the pump...

the car has a ignitor box ,do you think the computer would work with the ignition part of it ,you know sending a electrical charge to the distributor then the plugs ?
