New alternator, new battery. Problem is the car is only running off the battery. The belt is turning the alternator, but maybe the belt is not tight enough? The battery light is also staying on, on the dash. Any suggestions would be greatly appreaciated.
Ok, sorry it's been so long. Work! Anyway, My alternator is not charging. Everyone says check the fuses. All of the fuses are good (under the hood) and there is not one spicifically for the alt. does the starter have an in line fuse? I have got a Bentley manual which has the electrical diagram but cant make heads or tails. My battery reads 12.6 with car off and 12.0 with car running. I checked with two different batteries. Bentley manual talks about the battery light burned out on this model will effect the alt. My battery light never goes out! There is nothing draining the battery (unless i crank it) I mean, I have been one for several weeks and got home and it cranked right up. I am baffled!
