Let start by saying there is nothing easy in the A/C expansion valve.
When you get to where you can remove it, pulling the complete evaporator is an addition 5 seconds.
There are many hidden and hard to reach screws in the cover.
Everything comes out toward the glovebox.
This is not what I would call a DIY.
There is the issue of discharging and charging freon.
