| 1985 325e turns over but not starting HELP!! Ok, here the rundown....The car sat for a few months before recently driving it. Put in a new battery and it was running and good to go. I drove it the other day and it just sputtered and died and wouldn't start again. After it sat for a couple hours, I tried again and it started for a few minutes and then died and wouldn't start again after that, even after sitting for a day or two. I towed it home and replaced the main relay (Front relay in the cluster of 3 just in front of the driver's side strut mount) Then proceeded to flush the radiator and replace the A/C condenser, clutch fan, fan, spark plugs, front struts, and rear shocks. I went to take it for a spin after I got it all back together and about a half mile down the road it died again and wouldn't start. I then let it sit again for a few hours and walked back to try it, It then started again. I drove it home and parked it. And ordered the two front coolant temperature sensors. I have since replaced the yellow insulated one and am waiting for the front sensor with a brown, two pronged, head plug-in to get here. Every since then the car will not start at all, even after sitting. I then checked the relay I replaced and noticed that the one of the numbers on the new relay was located on a different prong than the stock one I pulled out. the 30 prong was is a different location. I checked spark at the plug and nothing. I pulled the fuel line off of the fuel filter located on top of the intake manifold and tried cranking it over and no fuel came out. I don't know, maybe I'm going about this all wrong, but I've been racking my brain and CANNOT figure this thing out. Well, those are the steps of this process..........ANY IDEAS????? |
