1985 325e

i have a 1985 325e. when accelerating from a complete stop, the care shakes and knocks abruptly until the car is up to 20 mph or so. the sound is coming from under the center of the car from the front seats to the rear of the car. any ideas what the problem may be? please email me at joeleblanc31@yahoo.com. thanks

just a shot in the dark but last year while i was at the local drag strip racing my bone stock 87 325E I would leave the line hard and it would buck and shake and cut out till the car would gain some speed after the once over twice i found that the underside of the intake boot what broke open pretty good.... the once over three times showed that the motor mounts where broke and the roll of the engine then leaving the line caused massive vac leak though i blew somthing up a bit of duct tape and she was back out running good

FYI: This is the E36 section for models 92-99. You want the E30 section in future.

Could it possibly be a driveline vibration? Maybe that rubber coupler that BMW uses on the driveline where it goes into the trans is possibly trashed? Just my 2 cents.
