1985 320i euro e30 - BMW Forum

Was looking at a 1987 325, not looking too good now due to lack of maintenance. Found a 1985 320i. Its a 2.7L, 5 speed. Guy says it was imported from Copenhagen, Denmark. Says hes the 2nd owner and knew the first owner who had it imported. Has all the paperwork from new. Blew the timing belt, had the top end rebuilt from local BMW shop. $2500 asking price. No rust, rough paint. Any advice or euro imports? This is a much better documented car than the much cleaner 325 I was looking at. More money though. Any feedback much appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldn't do that....sounds a little goofy to me

For one thing, it's no longer a 320i with the 2.7L eta (or other bored out to that size) engine in it... Was the rest if the drive line changed out as well?

Settled on a 1991 325ic today. Needs some minor cosmetics. Have to reinstall the power antena, and cd changer. Previous owner was a Mercedes/Porche/Audi tech. Very well documented car, no rust. New top. The TB is due, around 48K miles on. He offered to change it out with me so I could learn. Man this thing is way faster than my 4 cyl. 320i ever dreamed of. Looking forward to learning from you guys. Thanks for your help. Feels great to be back in a bimmer. Top down, 5000 rpm. Wow.
