Hello all - I'm new to this site, and look forward to coming back - My son has a 1984 318i - the guy we bought it from had the car sitting for some time -well we have done some of this and some of that to get her road worthy. We are getting a leak from the fitting that comes from the water pump through a metal tubing that links into the firewall (Heater core) not sure - but the metal rail is so old that it has holes all over and i guess now that it's running, the preassure has cused them to burst - I can't seem to find what this metal railing is called, and where i could get a replacement. It hugs the engine goes under the CARB - it has several splits where the "y/t" off leading to the firewall - the railing is very light and one end goes into a neck on the water heater, and the other tail end goes into the firewall. Also, there was a family of mice that managed to knaw through some hoses - we have several hoses just hanging, in particular the hose coming from the distributor housing, our Haynes manual does not tell me where the other end needs to go. I'm hoping someone can get us in the right direction, as now that i have the metal water railing out, my sons car is dead in the water until I can figure out what it's called and where I can get another one (not from the dealership)
thanks in advance, sorry for such a long thred -
