1981 320i Speedometer Question - BMW Forum

What's up guys? I am new to this forum and have a problem. It seems the Speedometer is constantly inaccurate. 10 miles per hour to be exact. When it says i am going 65 on my speedometer i am actually going 55. What could be causing this problem. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Are the wheels and tires OEM (original)?

Yeah they are completely original.

Sometimes the speed sensor is in the transmission, is that also OEM?

the transmission is also original. Does a 81 320i have a sensor in it? All i see is the speedometer cable coming from the transmission. The cables are fine since I do get speeds on my speedometer.

Hard to say. Maybe there's an issue with the gage itself.

Mmm maybe I can swap out my gauge with a spare that i have and test it from there. If anyone else has any ideas please post on this topic.
